Thanks for checking us out!
I really appreciate your interest on the new venture of D-Docks. With the new systems that integrate your phones features directly on the Vehicle's Information Display such as Android Auto and CarPlay, there needs to be a better solution to fit your phone to your car. Enough of putting up with "hang-on" solutions strapped to vents or sides of instrument panels. We paid too much money for our nice cars for an after-thought solution!
A bit about my background. My name is Danny. I grew up in a small town called Holland which his located on the westside of the state of Michigan in the United States. I studied Car and Product Design at the Art Center College of Design in California. I graduated the program at their campus in Vevey Switzerland, then worked in Germany for a major OEM for 15 years (if you are a customer speaking German, I need to catch up on my Deutsche!). In 2006, I came back to my hometown in Michigan to work for a leading Tier One Automotive Supplier.
D-Docks was born when I finally bought a new car in 2015 (a 2016 MK7 VW GTI – I love it!). With Apple CarPlayTM, I didn’t need to see the phone anymore but I did need a way to connect the phone quickly & easily getting in and out of my car that didn’t detract from the clean lines of my nice new interior.
Right now, we’re a small company (like home office small) but are driven by the belief that people shouldn’t have to compromise on storage solutions for their phone. D-Docks is offering a solution for the car it started with, the VW MK7 series of Golfs, but if you like what you see and would like a similar solution for your vehicle, let me know in the comments section. It just might be the next product on the list to create!
I love my career and job where I get to improve people's lives by creating enjoyable products to use. That's why I would like to get any feedback you have - it's your feedback that will drive better products - so thanks. I am really hoping you enjoy using your D-Dock!
